Set in the swamps of Louisiana in 1958, Darling is a murder-ballad-based narrative game where the player takes on the persona of the main character, named Ellis. The player wakes up in a swamp with no memory of how they got there so they make their way back to town to find their lover. 

Along the way, players collect audio and visual clues to piece together the hole in their memory.
